✅ For travel companies
In this guide, you'll find our top tips and recommendations for golf travel companies to maximise your use of Vamoos!
In this article:
Documents
- Under Travel Documents, upload anything relevant to the non-golf portion of the trip, including boarding passes, itineraries, lodging details, packing lists, visa information, city guides, etc.
- Under Destination Documents, you can upload scorecards, live scoring links, and golf club websites so travellers can easily access course information, maps, dining, facilities, and more.
Top Tip: Did you know you can rename the document sections to something more golf-specific under Shared > Menus & Labels? More info here.
Locations
- When it comes to locations, add the hotels/accommodations as main locations on the map, and everything else as Points of Interest (POIs).
- For POIs, the most important additions are the golf clubs and courses on the itinerary. Select the Golf icon when adding POIs, and link the course website. Clients can then filter the Map and Explore sections in the app to show golf locations only.
- For additional POIs, add any other stops on the itinerary or recommendations for the area, such as restaurants and dining, nightlife, and city attractions.
- Your clients will likely stay close to their accommodation and the courses, so set the POI range to 30km or 10km.
Storyboard
- Select Storyboard photos that highlight the full course and its greenery, as the colours and view will give clients a preview of the day to come. Zoomed-in photos, blurry photos, and busy pictures with lots of activity are discouraged, as these can reduce the seamlessness of Vamoos.
- If you have too much information in one day, split this into multiple Storyboard frames. Use the reorder tool to move both frames into one day, i.e. one for tee times & one for evening activities.
- Add crucial documents below each day on the Storyboard, such as course guides, live scoring links, and menus.
Notifications
- Sending out notifications is crucial to keep clients informed on important activities and updates during the travel process.
- The night before each tee-off, around 8:00 or 9:00 pm, send a notification reminding clients of their morning tee time and course location. On the morning of, send a notification one hour before solidifying the time and location, and link the course guide website so clients can be informed before arrival.
- Additional notifications you can send include reminders about dinner reservations, lodging check-in and check-out times, and any other activities on the itinerary.
Top Tip: Schedule a notification one to two days after a trip has concluded with a linked feedback form to easily gather client opinions.
Additional Tips
Personalisation
- Once you have added all your people, you can use our Personalisation feature to assign certain flights, storyboard frames, and documents to specific people by restricting visibility to the relevant travellers only. This is especially useful if you have clients taking different arrival and departure flights, or if certain clients will not be attending a day's activities.
- View the Personalisation user guide here.
Top Tip: Under People, add the names of everyone attending the trip. To input a large number of names at once, copy a list from a spreadsheet and paste this into the name for one added person - each name will be added individually.
Inspirations
- When making your Inspiration, promote multiple future golf trips you have on offer in various locations.
- Send out a notification one week after the end of the trip for clients to check Inspirations, as they will be in the peak time of reflecting on their great trip and wanting to book their next.
